| One step forward / two steps back? Conflict and livelihoods: Findings from the SLRC survey |
| Rachel Slater * |
| The Secure Livelihoods Research Consortium (SLRC) has completed the first round of a six-country study in conflict-affected countries including Pakistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Uganda, South Sudan and the Democratic Republic of Congo. This presentation first draws out lessons from across the survey about the ways in which displacement, conflict and violence affect household livelihoods and well-being. Second, it explores how far investments in supporting livelihoods affect people’s views about their government and other state actors. Finally, it will explore the multidimensional nature of people’s vulnerabilities in conflict situations and consider how far livelihoods programming is resilient to conflict.
