Climate Risks facing Cotton Value Chain Actors and Processes

This presentation will review secondary literature of past climate trends with a focus on the semi-arid regions within Pakistan, in the context of climate change. It will try to address the following questions:
  1. How will climate change impact business operations throughout the cotton value chain? And what implications will these have for the associated labour force?
  2. What is the relative vulnerability of the textile sector vis a vis the cotton sector in the context of climate change?
  3. What are the current adaptation practices and how can adaptation be promoted with the help of the private sector?
