Demystifying India’s Smog Crisis
Siddharth Singh*
India’s air quality crisis kills nearly a million of its citizens every year, and causes tremendous economic and social harm. This presentation, based on the scribe’s book The Great Smog of India (2018), talks about the various contributory sources of air pollution in India including industry, transport, agriculture, energy production, and so on. It discusses the linkages with climate change, and advocates for strong action on clean energy investments, as well as other measures to clean up India's air.
