Dr Shamshad Akhtar is a macroeconomist, development and finance expert with 37 years experience dealing with global and regional development across Asia and Middle East and North Africa (MENA).  She has been the Under Secretary General of the United Nations, Vice President of the World Bank and the Director General of the Asian Development Bank.  Within Pakistan, she served as Caretaker Minister of Finance in 2018; and as Governor State Bank of Pakistan.
