Ms Sofoora Kawsar Usman is Assistant Director at the Ministry of Health, Government of Maldives where she works as the section head for health statistics. She is currently researching trend analysis of mortality of Maldives and has led the Maldives Disability Study 2016-19. Her research has also looked at the application of quality of life scales to Maldivian population and development of person reported outcome measures for Small Island Development States. She is also a visiting lecturer at the Maldives National University in Maldives since 2015. Before joining the Ministry, she studied Health Economics and Policy from the University of Adelaide, Australia.
