Mr Haris Majeed is a global/planetary health researcher at the University of Toronto, Canada. Currently as a PhD candidate in the Temerty Faculty of Medicine (Institute of Medical Science), he is working on the influences of climatological conditions on various non-communicable and nutritional disease outcomes. In particular, Mr Majeed seeks to address the question of how the effects of climate change and climate variability impact various disease outcomes, and how these risks differ due to multitude of factors, such as geography, age, sex, race, socioeconomic status, and access to healthcare/resources. He has been affiliated with the Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto; and currently with the Li Ka Shing Knowledge Research Institute at St Michael’s Hospital in Toronto, Canada. Mr Majeed has numerous peer-reviewed and non peer-reviewed publications in top-tier journals such as the New England Journal of Medicine and various Lancet family journals. Previously, he has completed a Master of Science in Geophysics, a Master of Science in Medical Science, and Honors Bachelor of Science at the University of Toronto.
