Dr Lutfi Rahimi is Head of Research at the Biruni Institute and Assistant Professor of Economics at the American University of Afghanistan. He previously worked as a Senior Advisor to the Ministry of Economy and as Tax Consultant at the World Bank country office in Kabul. Dr Rahimi holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Exeter, United Kingdom. His PhD research focused on behavioural dimensions of tax compliance and labour supply, and the effects of public service delivery methods to deal with corruption. His current research activities at the Biruni Institute include applied Microeconomic Analysis, Sustainable Development, Regional Cooperation and Development.
