Mr Joseph George is a trade analyst working at United Nations ESCAP Subregional Office for South and South-West Asia, where he provides research support for implementation of UNESCAP’s projects and programmes on regional trade, connectivity, and economic integration in Southern Asia. He has more than ten years of work experience on development issues of South Asia. His co-authored published works include ‘The Doha Round and South Asia: Need for Better Coordination’ (2011); ‘Cost of Economic Non-cooperation to Consumers in South Asia’ (2012); ‘Reforming Non-Tariff Barriers: Case for a Participatory Approach in South Asia’ (2013); ‘Unlocking the Potential of Regional Economic Cooperation and Integration in South Asia’ (2017); ‘Integrating South Asia’s Power Grid for a Sustainable and Low Carbon Future’ (2018); and ‘Regional Cooperation for Sustainable Food Security in South Asia’ (2020).
