Ambassador Shafqat Kakakhel currently serves as Chairperson of the Board of Governors at the Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI) in Pakistan. He has an illustrious career, including his tenure as the Deputy Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Programme and as Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations.

Additionally, Ambassador Kakakhel has represented his country as the Permanent Representative to the United Nations Environment Programme and the United Nations Centre for Human Settlements (HABITAT).
