Dr Hasan Bin Hamza is currently placed as Policy and Planning lead at the Health Planning System Strengthening, Information Analysis Unit (HPSIU) of the Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination, Government of Pakistan. HPSIU is the core analysis unit working towards the generation of evidence for policy formulation directed towards the introduction of health reforms within the country. He is an Epidemiologist and Biostatistician by qualification and training. Dr Hamza’s career spans more than 15 years of research, implementation and advocacy for improved coverage and introduction of effective public health interventions in developing country settings. He is a Master of Science with a double qualification in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from the Aga Khan University, Pakistan. He graduated in medicine and has been working with private sector organisations, international donors, teaching institutes and the government in Pakistan, by designing and implementing research studies, analysing data and writing policy documents on a range of public health issues from disease prevention to health systems.
