Md Shamsuddoha is Chief Executive of the Center for Participatory Research and Development (CPRD), a policy think tank in Bangladesh. Trained as a marine scientist, he has transitioned over two decades into a key figure in research, advocacy, and activism, particularly in the spheres of climate change adaptation, disaster risk reduction, sustainable development, and green growth. His influence extends to the formulation of government policies and strategies in these areas. His extensive contributions include numerous policy papers, articles, and research briefs on topics ranging from trade and globalisation to climate justice and migration. Many of these works have been recognised and published in reputable international journals and books.
