Mr Aslam Hayat serves as a Senior Policy Fellow at LIRNEasia and is a partner at Hayat and Noorwala. Formerly, he held the position of Chief Corporate Affairs Officer at Telenor Pakistan. With a career exceeding 30 years, Mr Hayat has garnered experience from esteemed international organisations, contributing to both public and private sectors in the ICT domain. He has also led as the Center Director (CEO) of the Pacific ICT Regulatory Resource Centre (PIRRC) in Fiji, a project co-funded by the World Bank and Asian Development Bank.
Mr Hayat’s portfolio includes assisting in the National Telecom Policy and Biometric Verification process. He played a pivotal role in crafting ICT Policies and laws in the Pacific region and has contributed to the development of the Universal Service Fund Policy 2006, Mobile Cellular Policy 2004, De-regulation Policy 2003, Electronic Transaction Ordinance 2002, and Higher Education Commission Ordinance 2002.
