Mr Nadir Gul Barech is Acting Chief Executive Officer, Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF) and has over 28 years of leadership experience in national and international organisations, primarily focusing on social and economic development. He has led various pro-poor development programmes, with a notable emphasis on Balochistan. Before joining the PPAF, he served as the Chief Executive Officer of the Balochistan Rural Support Programme (BRSP), where he played a key role in its development as an institution dedicated to poverty alleviation and community empowerment. Earlier, he held positions including Head of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) in Balochistan, Technical Advisor/National Coordinator at the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), and Provincial Programme Officer for Balochistan at UNFPA. His work in sustainable development and conservation strategy processes is documented in several publications. For his contributions to socioeconomic development in Pakistan, he was awarded the Seventh Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FPCCI) Gold Medal Award in 2019 and the Afro-Asian Rural Development Organization (AARDO) award in 2012.
