Ms Mossarat Qadeem co-founded the PAIMAN Alumni Trust, a non-profit organisation dedicated to the sociopolitical and economic empowerment of marginalised communities in Pakistan. A vocal advocate for women, peace, and security on both national and international platforms, Ms Qadeem is a globally recognised expert in Countering Violent Extremism (CVE) and de-radicalisation. She has addressed the UN General Assembly on these topics thrice. She is a member of the International Review Panel of the Global Community and Resilience Fund (GCERF) and the Women’s Alliance for Security Leadership (WASL). Ms Qadeem is an accomplished author and filmmaker, focusing on subjects like India-Pakistan relations, peace education, youth involvement in CVE, and the experiences of women, particularly mothers, in conflict and extremism scenarios. Her previous roles include serving as a Minister of Information in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province and as a member of the FATA Reform Commission. Academically, she holds a Master’s degree in Political Science and Gender Studies from the Institute of Social Sciences, Netherlands, and an MPhil in International Politics (Conflict Studies) from the University of Hull. Additionally, Ms Qadeem is a former Fellow of the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, USA.
