Mr Hardin Ratshisusu is the Deputy Commissioner of the Competition Commission of South Africa appointed by the Minister of Trade and Industry in 2016. He has worked in the regulatory field with extensive experience in the competition regulatory environment in both the public and private sector.
In his role as Deputy Commissioner, he is responsible for oversight over key investigative and enforcement activities of the Commission particularly market inquiries, unilateral conduct as well as mergers and acquisitions. He also actively participates in international platforms such as OECD, BRICS, UNCTAD and African Competition Forum, and has also occasionally published papers in academic journals. He holds a BCom (Hons-Economics) from the University of Venda, MCom (Economics) from the University of Witwatersrand and MBL from the University of South Africa.
