Ms Umbreen Arif is Education Policy Advisor at the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, Government of Pakistan, since 2019. She has more than 20 years of experience in the field of education providing policy advice, technical and analytical support, program supervision and management expertise. She work portfolio has been diverse, with work on multi-sector programmes addressing education, health, nutrition, governance and disaster risk preparedness.  She has worked with many bilateral and multilateral development partners on a rich portfolio of programmes ranging from Higher Education Sector Reforms to Basic Education, including implementation of education in emergency situations (conflict and natural disasters). Ms Arif has also has cross country experience of providing support to education programs in Tanzania, India and Afghanistan. 

Very recently during the COVID-19 Education Emergency, she has led the Government of Pakistan’s distance learning initiatives of TeleSchool, E-Taaleem (digital portal) and Radio School, working closely with Ed Tech partners and development organisations.
